We do everything we can to get players involved in our decision making processes including holding votes, Annual General Meetings and encouraging open discussion across the Southwest Paintball forum and mailing list.

Southwest Paintball Mailing List
The mailing list is an email facility that can be used for anything to do with paintball that is relevant to players in the South West of the UK and Wales.
It works by allowing any member of the list to send an email to "southwest.paintball@yahoogroups.com" and then forwarding this email to all other members on the list. At the time of writing, the list has aprox. 120 members and this is growing all the time.
This is the best method to receive instant news about the SWPL and other paintball related issues. It also provides every member with the means to ask for help, find out information or voice their opinions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
When using the list, you must consider other members at all times and there are limitations to what you can use the list for. The FAQs below cover all of these issues - you should read them before using the list.
Q. What Can I Send To The List?
A. This is a difficult question to answer comprehensively. Basically, we ask you to always consider the other members and you can send pretty much anything as long as it is related to Paintball. When we say "consider other members", we mean that email must be relevant to them and must not contain anything that they may find insulting or offensive.
Q. Can I Use The List For Promotions / Advertising?
A. Yes and No. You CAN use the list to promote paintball events that will be of interest to members, but CANNOT use it to sell your products or advertise anything that is not paintball related. If you are unsure, you should email swpl@southwestpaintball.co.uk before sending your email to the list. Please include your intended email.
Q. Is There A Limit To The Number Of Emails I Can Send?
A. There is no actual limit to the number of emails that you can send to the list, but again, we ask you to always consider the other members. For example, if an email results in a lengthy "conversation" (i.e. multiple emails being sent between two members) then unless it is of interest to everyone on the list, you should be contacting each other directly.
Q. When I Choose Reply, Who Am I Replying To?
A. If you choose the reply option in your email software on an email sent from the mailing list then you will be replying to the list and your reply will be forwarded to all of the members.
Q. How Do I Contact Another Member Directly?
A. Simple. When someone sends an email to the list, their email address is included. To contact them directly, instead of hitting Reply (which will reply to the whole list), you need to send an email to that member's personal email address.
Q. Can I Send Pictures / Attachments To The List?
A. No. Members may not want to wait for your attachment to download and viruses can be passed around via attachments. For the safety of our member's computers we do not allow any attachments to be sent via the list. However, there are plenty of facilities on our web sites to post pictures - see the Gallery section.
Q. Can I Catch A Virus Via The List?
A. Very, very, very unlikely. Only straight forward text messages can be sent to the mailing list. This means that no HTML or Attachments can carry a virus that will infect your computer. Also, the list is run by Yahoo which is a multi-national and responsible company. They would not allow their service to pass viruses around - think about it. You are safe when receiving messages from the list.
Q. How Do I Unsubscribe?
A. You won't want to, but if you do loose your mind and decide you want to then you're free to do so at any time, 24hrs a day. All you need to do is send an email to "southwestpaintball-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com" and you will be unsubscribed automatically. We have no control over this.
Q. What Happens If Someone Abuses The Service?
A. If someone intentional abuses the service then they will be banned immediately. We will not tolerate abuse or spamming because we respect our members privacy. However, if the list is abused unintentionally, we will issue a warning and then ban the member if they continue to abuse the service.
